Urška Lukovnjak  was born in 1993 in Maribor, where she attended primary school and Conservatorium of Music and Ballet. She is currently studying music education at the Faculty of education in Maribor. She began to show her interest in photography in secondary school.  Her first photos were portraits of musicians; later she focused on concert photography.

Her work is regularly published in national newspapers such as Delo, Dnevnik, Večer, and magazines Emzin, Ona, Grazia and 7dni. She also contributed photographs for the design of CDS by  the Mascara Quartet, an American flute player Nicole Molumby (Awakening – 21st Century Slovenian Flute Music), students of the Graz University (Schlagwerk PLUS), the Piazzolleky Quintet (Loco)Alma (Almanah) and Jazz Slovenia 2015 (Time to Improvise). Urška also collaborated with EY Slovenia in preparing the Family Business book

She has held six solo exhibitions: at the Secondary School of Economics in Maribor, the Rdeča Ostriga Youth Cultural Club in Škofja Loka, the Kolnkiška Club in Ptuj, the most notable in Cankarjev dom (Slovenia’s central cultural institution) in Ljubljana, the Karlinia Gallery in Maribor and at the Jazz Pub & Gallery Barbiton in Celje. She has also taken part in a group exhibiton in Klagenfurt, Austria, within the scope of the Alpen Adria Jazz Festival.
